[...] We stayed in an apartment at 50 Rue de l'Universite, a quaint street in the antiques district of up-market St Germain des Près. It had a spacious living room, fitted kitchen, bathroom and two double bedrooms (plus a sofa-bed that sleeps two), with satellite TV, DVD player and telephone.
It was a two-minute walk from the Seine and perfectly sited for exploring St Germain, home of the Left Bank district, famous Fifties hangout of intellectuals and bohemians.[...]

The trip to Paris was outstanding. The Sand apartment made the trip one of the most memorable and enjoyable trips to Europe that we have taken. It was spacious, well furnished, convenient and quite comfortable.
The distances between the two bedrooms and baths gave both couples the space needed to feel as though each had their own apartment. All of the appliances were terrific and the provided instructions made them easy to use.
All of Paris was easily accessible from it, by either foot, Metro or taxi. My wife and I highly recommend it to those visiting the "City of Lights".
The service provided by "My Genie In Paris" was also extremely helpful. Stephane and his assistant were delightful and provided us the car and driver for our ventures to Normandy and Versailles. They get an A+.
Rita, your help and the apartment greatly exceeded expectations. I'll give it a rating of 10 out of a possible 10 points.
Merci and Au revoir.

Bonjour Philippe,
We just wanted to thank you for a wonderful time in Paris. We have rented many properties around the world and your apartment was truly one of our best experiences. Your attention to detail was perfect and the location was exactly what we have been looking for in your beautiful city. We felt completely at home and spent more time than usual just relaxing. It is always a concern when we reserve an holiday home, but we both agreed we have found our "home" in Paris.
You'll notice I left a large glass dish behind. I hope you don't mind. As I did not want to break your dishes, and we wanted to enjoy the wonderful rabbit with sauce and confit from the Breteuil marche, I bought it to heat the food. I'm sure other people will enjoy this too.
We are planning a trip next year, which will include a stopover in Paris. We hope to be able to stay at Breteuil again.
Thank you so much for everything.

A thousand thanks for sharing your truly great apartment with us! It was most comfortable, the location was perfect and we had a great time despite having to cut our stay short by a day. We will definitely return and have already recommended the apartment to three sets of our friends who are each planning upcoming trips to Paris

The photographs do not lie: this is an incredible apartment in an incredible location: an easy walk to the Louvre, Notre Dame, the Seine, and the shops and cafes of St. Germain de Pres.
A wonderful bakery/deli is just across the way. There is easy access to the Metro. The Rue Dauphine, where the apartment is located, is a continuation of the Pont Neuf to the Ile de la Cite. You have a private code that opens large wooden doors on the street and lets you into a private, quiet, cobbled courtyard. Despite being in the center of the action, we heard no noise at night. The beds were very comfortable; the website does not mention that the twin beds in the bedroom are adjustable with remote controls (my children insisted that I put that in). The vaulted cellar: amazing! It is clean and fresh, with every convenience you could possible need, including candles and matches to enhance the historic drama of the cellar. Yet you are sitting surrounded by 500-year-old masonry, sipping some Cotes-du-Rhone and nibbling on your Brie and baguette, and wondering what interesting things this cellar has seen during the past half millenium. The bathroom is huge by French standards, beautifully decorated, with everything new except, once again, the arched ceilings and the ancient masonry. Here again, there are candles in lanterns to make your bathing experience more relaxing. Your hosts will explain all the appliances, the television, where to put your garbage, etc., and are charming and accessible if there should be any problem (which there wasn't). I hope very much to return to Paris soon and will definitely stay at the Rue Dauphine again. Don't miss it!
